Improvements & fixes...

Lots of small fixes today:

  • Comments system:
    • Posting to non-existing article now impossible.
    • Cache bug fixed which could cause incomplete comments from other users to appear in the comments form.
    • Newlines in comments now get translated to
tags, so limited formatting of text is now possible.
    • Marked a minor translation bug as fixed.
  • Sidebars:
    • Images now get resized only when they are too wide, not when they are too high.
    • Links associated with images now open in a new window.
  • Main page:
    • Images now get resized only when they are too wide...
    • Links to the full scale version of resized images now open in a new window.
    • Hovering the mouse over a resized image now brings up a tooltip message.
  • Various:
    • Added a possibility for the developers here to clear the cache of all blogs at once.  Fittingly, this option is labeled 'Armageddon'...
    • Changed the error message users get to see if something goes wrong with our database (which never happens, of course...)

Not bad for a day when almost nobody is working, eh?

Bug report

I've noticed that some people seem to have trouble with links in the simple text editor. Let's try it out: www.skynetblogs.be
The above link should go to the Skynet blogs page.

UPDATED: Okay, so that worked... now let's update this post and see what happens...

And more links...

The news about Skynet blogs keeps spreading...  For some funny reason, my name has slipped into the story: http://www.internetjournalistiek.be/cgi/ijportal.cgi?arch...
Also in the article at Planet Internet Netherlands my name pops up: http://www.planet.nl/planet/show/id=118880/contentid=3810...
I think it is all the 'fault' of Luc Van Braekel's article: http://lvb.net/item/148.  He was the first one to explicitly mention it, probably because he got the story from my blog http://brusselsblog.blogspot.com.
Funny how the blogosphere works...

It looks like there are some real users posting to blogs tonight...  http://justtesting.skynetblogs.be/ for instance, or http://dof.skynetblogs.be

First external links!

Well, I'm no longer the only blogger linking to http://www.skynetblogs.be anymore!  Luc Van Braekel was first to link to us on his blog over at http://lvb.net
